Residence Inn by Marriott Short Pump at the Notch

My husband and I enjoyed a ‘staycation’ here and loved every minute of our stay! Breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations with potatoes, fluffy scrambled eggs, and sausage. Our suite was well appointed and bed was very comfortable. We brought our chihuahua as they are pet friendly (saw guests with larger dogs as well!). Hotel has pet potty stations around the perimeter and great walking area. Tons of shopping and dining close by along with a full bar in the lobby of the hotel. They had a sign with drink specials, which we enjoyed before going to dinner. Overall, great hotel!

New building, very good. Very helpful front desk. Book in advance, very difficult to reserve. Perfect for long term stay, has great kitchen! We’re able to book a room in advance. One part of the building is new construction and one part is renovation. New construction smaller rooms and very functional space, great rooms. More spacious rooms are good for family stay… can be a bit noisy.

I stayed at this property when I first moved to Virginia. It was one of my favorite properties to stay at. I would stay for weeks here. Always paid in advance for the week and all in cash. Then I had the unfortunate chance to speak with the general manager. I still don’t understand how somebody so incompetent could hold that title. Well I was asked to leave the property because I “make too much noise going up the stairs”. I am 6’7” weight about 238# and wear a size 13 shoe. How can I go up to the 4th floor without making noise. I packed my belongings then went to the front desk for my refund which was about $500. The incompetent manager told the person working the front desk that it would be refunded to my card. This is why I don’t know how she made it to be a manger, if I paid cash for the week how does it go back to my card. Well after dealing with Marriott calling the property back and forth I finally got a check sent to me months later. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY!!! It’s not worth the headache or the frustration. Also north worth the insult of being told I make too much noise going up the stairs. I guess I should’ve followed her example of just using the elevator all the time I’m pretty sure she’s never used the stairs.
